Tanishka Yella is a high school student with a strong interest in business, entrepreneurship, technology, artificial intelligence, and community leadership. She has gained extensive experience with AI through a variety of projects, courses, and hands-on applications, and is especially interested in using emerging technology to solve real-world problems. One of her most notable projects is UNFILTRD, an AI-powered fashion discovery app inspired by Pinterest that helps users explore fashion based on their personal style. Tanishka co-developed UNFILTRD through the I-Start Valley internship, where she and her team competed in the I-Start Valley Global Finals startup business competition and earned 1st place. Through this experience, she strengthened her skills in entrepreneurship, product development, teamwork, pitching, and business strategy. Tanishka is also actively involved in DECA and FBLA, where she continues to build her leadership, communication, and business skills. She is the captain of her school’s JV tennis team and competes as Singles 1, which has helped her develop discipline, resilience, and confidence. Community service is also an important part of Tanishka’s leadership experience. She serves as the head of her temple volunteering group, where she helps organize and lead volunteer efforts. She has also volunteered at her local elementary school for the past four years, giving her the opportunity to support younger students and contribute to her community. She earned the Gold Presidential Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) for her leadership and service. Passionate about making a difference, Tanishka has completed over 900 hours of volunteer service. Tanishka is also passionate about helping other teenagers better understand money and personal finance. She created Money Made Simple for Teens by Tanishka Yella, a financial literacy blog and podcast designed to make financial topics easier and more approachable for young people. Through the platform, she shares information on topics such as saving, spending, budgeting, and developing smart financial habits. Through entrepreneurship, athletics, community service, and student leadership, Tanishka continues to challenge herself, explore new ideas, and look for opportunities to make a positive impact on the people and communities around her.
